Finally, life is smiling back.

Fabri About Life, About Me

Life is finally smiling back and 2020 is almost over.

I know, you probably didn’t even read all my posts about Catalonia history, but it was important to me.

I always thought knowing the history of the place where you live is important especially if you want to learn about the local culture: why there are so many red and yellow flags around the city, what does it mean that yellow ribbon and why Catalan want to be independent of Spain?

Here’s the link to the previous post on why they want independence.

However, since the beginning of December I haven’t typed about my personal life, and here is all the news.

Here all the news from December.

I got a job, we are still living in the city center in a shared apartment, Barcelona is still dead, we celebrated Christmas and NYE at home (NYE is new years eve, mum).

Now into the details.

New job?

Oh man, it’s a jungle out there. The market is very static, not many new opportunities because nobody wants to leave their job, therefore you can only aim at industries that had a big development during last year.

This is how I found a job in customer service/ sales for HP.

Yeah, I know, Fabrizio in the computer/IT world?

WEIRD

I started last December and I’ve also received my first pay before christmas. YUHUUUU

I am soooo happy.

Nadal 2020

Christmas, unfortunately, I couldn’t go back to Italy to see my family. I loved to do that but, 2020 didn’t let me fly.

Here are some reasons:

  1. To fly back and forward I need two Covid tests: 110 euro each plus flight.
  2. Just a lunch with family, no more than six people allowed, is it really Christmas?
  3. Forget about Christmas evening with friends out in bars in Milan drinking because it’s all cerrado.

It wasn’t an easy conversation with my mom, and my dad to explain that their only child is not flying home for Christmas, but because they are the best, they understood that.

Instead we celebrated here in our place with a bunch of good friends, and it was amazing.

Hopefully, for Nonno and Eva’s birthday (end of Feb) we will be able to go back for a little bit.

Please Covid, let us goooo.

NYE at home.

Yes we did something that I never wanted to do because I know that during NYE everyone goes crazy and shit happens.

J, my french flatmate invented some of his friends and we celebrated with other ten friends and we loved it.

I also got some fireworks and we fired them in the middle of the night on our rooftop.

It was Magic, and we didn’t have any problem just a BIG mess the day after.

Is the light at the end of the tunnel ?

Now things are back to normal, we both work, living in the city, and making new friends.

Christmas Eve with some friend

2020 challenged us:

We moved from Manchester to Barcelona in March

I was very happy to archive this year in one of my worst years since I left home, but…

BUT

B.U.T.

Like a goal at minute 93’, in a derby match, on bicycle kick… things changed.

On the 14th of Jan, I started working, started earning money, meeting new people, I saw a light at the end of this tunnel.

Yes baby baby, rule number one.

BE POSITIVE, ALWAYS!!!
